The law states that the tread on your vehicle tyres cannot be less than 1.6mm. And if your tyres are illegal, you could be liable for a fine of up to £2,500 plus three penalty points per tyre.
Worn tyres can result in longer stopping distances and reduced grip on the road – which is why at Sinclair Volkswagen we recommend tyre replacement at 3mm and now offer an express fit tyre service.
