Sinclair Volkswagen - Winter Driving
Winter driving starts at 7°C
Don't get caught out this year by our British winter weather. Last year, we had 5 months of temperatures below 7°C, and most of us were taken by surprise.
We are not used to extreme driving conditions and so we're not familiar with what we can do, or should do, to get ready for winter driving. There are engine checks, car checks, safety checks, body checks and winter tyre options for all our cars. Make sure you don't forget the spades, blankets, hot tea and Kendal Mint Cake for you.
Your regular tyres are fine most of the year, but once the temperature drops below 7°C these tyres start to under-perform. You can improve your cars grip and performance in these colder conditions by out fitting your car with winter tyres. For extreme snow conditions there are snow chains and even snow socks.
Tyres, socks and chains.
What's the difference?
There are a range of choices to keep yourself safe driving this winter. Which one you choose will depend on where you drive and how often.
