Volkswagen give sneak peak into second version of the VW Arteon
With a focus on style and practicality, Volkswagen gives us the new Arteon Shooting Brake, and it has had quite the upgrade from the first-gen model. Featuring a plethora of technology, the new Shooting Brake model isn't shy when it comes to added extras.
Available in 4 different versions, standard, Elegance, R-Line and R, the new look Arteon Shooting Brake and R version cone in eHybrid models comprising of a 154bhp 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 113bhp electric motor giving a combined output of 214bhp.
Opt for a petro model; range from 187bhp to 276bhp or diesel. Diesel models vary from 148bhp to 197bhp are fitted with an updated selective catalytic reduction filter (SCR) and a new Adblue system that can reduce NOx emissions by around 80%. The new Arteon models, including the Speeding Brake design, come as a six-speed manual model or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The range features four-wheel drive options too.
First impressions boast a luxurious exterior finish, keeping the estate like look with upgraded bumpers and redesigned rear end. With a distinctive avant-garde look, the Shooting Brake model has a continuous light strip broken only by the VW badge. You will notice chrome bars and new air intakes too. Avert your attention to the rear of the vehicle; here you will catch sight of the extended roofline and edgy roof spoiler to round off the improved design on the rear end. Complete the look with 18 or 20-inch alloys.
