The new Golf R will boast 316bhp from its 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine with 4WD. It will sit at the top of the Golf range and will also give you the option of having the R-performance package added on to it, as it isn’t standard. This will give you 19” ‘Estoril’ alloy wheels, a performance rear spoiler, new drive modes and a sportier setup for DSG, DCC and the 4WD system.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport

The new Golf GTI Clubsport is the replacement to the old Golf GTI TCR, and it pushes the output to up to 296bhp. It also comes with lowered suspension, and front-wheel drive. However, you do get more than the regular GTI, which makes the GTI Clubsport option an appealing version to consider. In addition to the extra power, you will find that you get a new drive mode, a big two-part rear spoiler, a new front bumper and splitter, oval tail pips, sports velour seats, a digital experience in the cockpit and driver sides, bigger brakes, a vehicle dynamic manager and optional DCC.
