Volkswagen Launches T-Cross First Edition Compact SUV
Volkswagen has announced the launch of its T-Cross compact SUV, with orders now available ahead of the April release. The highly anticipated First Edition will enter the market priced from £23,150 while a range of additional trims, including various cheaper options, will be released throughout 2019.

The Special First Edition VW T-Cross Compact SUV
When announcing the future arrival of the T-Cross series, the German manufacturer confirmed that the special First Edition will be limited to just 250 units in the UK market. Their exclusivity will be highlighted by special badging as well as several equipment upgrades.
The 1.0l TSI petrol engines, producing 113bhp and 200Nm of torque uses a six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. The practical compact SUV has sliding rear seats that give you the choice of 140mm extra legroom or 70 litres of extra boot capacity. Silver roof rails, exclusive to the First Edition, add extra practicality. Front Assist safety features include autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.
The First Editions are equipped with an extra subwoofer and 8” infotainment system and 18” Funchal alloys to take the fun in and outside the cabin to another level. Discover Media Sat Nav and black interior styling are to bring an extra touch of exclusive class and style to the table while a decal on the C-pillar will help the First Editions stand out from the crowd too.
VW stated at the time of announcement that the T-Cross range aims to bring practicality, usability, comfort, and fun to its SUV family. The First Edition vehicles are set to do this exceptionally well.
Further T-Cross Releases Due In Late 2019
Future releases throughout the year include the entry-level S trim model, which will start at £16,995, as well as the mid-range SE models priced from £18,795. While the former comes with 16” alloys, heated door mirrors and automatic headlights, the latter offers 17-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, front fog lamps, a leather-trimmed steering wheel. The SE range also offers adaptive cruise and other features that closely resemble the First Edition.
At the upper end of the range, the T-Cross SEL (£21,650) adds tinted windows, front sport seats, and climate control floor mats as well as parking sensors and a clever tiredness detection system. The T-Cross R-Line 6-speed models start at £23,550 and will include exclusive front and back bumpers as well as VW’s binnacle.
Optional extras included better sound systems and keyless entry will be available on all models while the R-Line range are available in 7-speed DSG alternatives.
